Help & FAQ

What is Dial Path?

Dial Path is a USSD code directory for Ethiopia. It helps you find and dial mobile service codes — balance checks, airtime recharge, mobile money, data packages — without memorising them.

How do I use it?

Open the app, search or browse for a service, then tap the code to dial. A confirmation step shows you what will be dialled before the call is placed.

Does it cost anything?

Dial Path is free and open-source. Standard carrier charges apply for the USSD sessions you initiate through the app.

Does it work offline?

Yes. The service catalog is cached locally after the first sync. You can browse and dial codes even without an internet connection.

Which providers are supported?

Ethio Telecom, Safaricom, Telebirr, CBE Birr, M-PESA, and several banks and utility services. The catalog is community-driven and updated regularly.

How are codes added or updated?

You can suggest new codes through the app's "Suggest a Code" feature. Submissions are reviewed and added to the catalog by the community.

How does SIM selection work?

The app tries to pick the right SIM for each provider automatically. You can also manually choose which SIM to use from the settings or the dial confirmation sheet.

Is my data safe?

Dial Path does not read, store, or transmit your USSD session data. The app only opens the dialer with the selected code. See our Privacy Policy for details.
